Project Overview
This Greenwich project involved the excavation and site preparation for a large underground propane tank installation. Working within a high-end residential property, our team carefully excavated the installation area while protecting the surrounding landscaping and existing site features.
During excavation, we encountered solid ledge that required additional demolition with a hydraulic breaker before the site could be brought to the proper depth. Phase One
Excavation
Excavation began by carefully opening the designated area and creating the trench required for the underground propane tank while working around the property's existing landscaping and site conditions.
Phase Two
Ledge Encountered
As excavation progressed, we encountered solid ledge beneath the surface that prevented us from reaching the required depth for the tank installation.
Phase Three
Ledge Removal
Using a hydraulic breaker, our team carefully removed the ledge to achieve the proper depth and dimensions needed for the underground tank.
Phase Four
Site Preparation
With the ledge removed, the excavation was cleaned, graded, and prepared to create a stable area for safe and precise placement of the propane tank.
Phase Five
Tank Placement
The propane tank was carefully lowered into the prepared excavation and positioned at the proper depth and location for installation.
Phase Six
Initial Backfilling
Once the tank was properly positioned, backfilling began around the tank to secure it in place while protecting the completed installation.
Phase Seven
Final Backfilling
The remaining excavation was filled and graded, restoring the surrounding area and bringing the site back to its original elevation.
Phase Eight
Site Restoration
The disturbed area was finish-graded and prepared for the restoration of the lawn, leaving the property clean and ready for its final landscaping.
